How to Find your Next Apartment!

Williamsburg Court - Monday, August 10, 2015

When you start your search for a new apartment, what items do you look for within the apartment complex? Are you searching for location, price, square footage? Determining what your ideal criteria for your next apartment would be is key! Below are a few items that may help you narrow down what exactly are deal breakers for your next apartment search.

  1. Walking/Driving Distance to Shops - Are you someone who loves to spend a free day strolling around town going in and out of local shops looking for that one perfect purchase? If so, make sure you check out the walking/driving distance to the nearest attraction area.
  2. Closet Space - We all know now a days that closet space can be a HUGE must for some people. Whether you need a humongous walk in closet or just enough space to fit all your items into, this is a great item to consider when looking for a new apartment.
  3. Laundry Facilities - Not all apartments come equipped with a washer and dryer hook up. Make sure you determine if this will be a deal breaker for you. If the apartment does not come with washer and dryer hook ups, is there a laundry facility within your building or do you need to walk a ways to the closest facility? Are the washer and dryers coin operated or do they require another method?
The list of items to determine can go on and on from here. The most important part when searching for a new apartment is to determine what your requirements are and what items can be negotiable to help find the perfect apartment for you!

Ways to Make your Apartment Colorful!

Williamsburg Court - Monday, July 20, 2015

With this lovely weather we have been experiencing lately, it makes me think of ways to brighten any apartment space. Family photographs, colorful prints and/or posters are all good additions to walls, bookshelves, and/or counter tops.

Adding a colorful personal touch can give your home a brighter look instantly. In addition to the colorful prints or posters, you can simply add a brightly colored comforter with matching sheets to finish off your bedroom.

Other ideas that could help spice up your apartment, could be adding throw pillows on the sofa, area rugs on the floor, or brightly colored towels in the bathroom.

No matter if you add colorful pieces into one room or your whole apartment, it will sure be a beautiful change to your everyday living space.

Father's Day 2015

Williamsburg Court - Thursday, June 18, 2015

As we all know Sunday June 21st is Father's Day. First thing I would say to do on this holiday is give your dad a big hug and tell him you love him. These days we take our parents for granted and forget all the important life lessons they taught us.

Plan an activity to celebrate your dad this year. Why not treat him to lunch or a game of golf? The Saratoga State Park has a beautiful course that is sure to please him. Even just a walk around the park could be a wonderful experience in its own.

If golf is not your Father's choice of activity, check out the several stores on Broadway where you can purchase a great gift for him. The National, Jos A Banks and Hat-sational are just some great stores that offer a wide range of presents that would work perfect for Father's Day.

From everyone at Williamsburg Court, Happy Father's Day!

Mother's Day - Sunday May 10th

Williamsburg Court - Friday, May 08, 2015

In Saratoga Springs it appears that the way to celebrate Mother's Day is by taking your mom out to brunch. There are many choices here from the elaborate, such as the Prime National or the Gideon Putnam hotel to the more casual like Harvey's & Parkside Eatery in town or Weatfield's and Maestro's right on Broadway. Check out your own favorite restaurant and see what they are offering for this wonderful holiday. Remember reservations are required.

Another great idea is to take mom on a shopping spree at the many local boutiques on Broadway. A great place to check out is the Clothes Horse or Frivolous boutique. This way mom can pick out her own gift and you don't have to worry about getting the wrong present.

Why not treat mom to a Spa Day? Saratoga has several wonderful spas like Complexions or the Roosevelt Spa and Mineral Bath's right at our own Saratoga Park. What a wonderful bonding experience that a spa day can bring to you and your mom.

Just being able to spend some time with your mother can be a gift in itself!

Earth Day 2015

Williamsburg Court - Tuesday, April 21, 2015

When is Earth Day 2015? According to the Old Farmer's Almanac this observance always falls on April 22. On Earth Day, enjoy the tonic of fresh air, contact with the soil, and companionship with nature! Walk through the woods in search of emerging wildflowers and green moss. Go outside, no matter what the weather is doing!

Ever wonder how Earth Day started? This observance arose from an interest in gathering national support for environmental issues. In 1970, San Francisco activist John McConnell and Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson separately asked Americans to join a grassroots demonstration. McConnell chose the spring equinox (March 21, 1970) and Nelson chose April 22. Millions of people participated, and today Earth Day continues to be widely celebrated with events on both dates. The most common practice of celebration is to plant new tress for Earth Day.

What will you do this year to celebrate Earth Day?

Holocaust Memorial Days 2015

Williamsburg Court - Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Holocaust remembrance week is April 12-19th. Holocaust Remembrance Day is the nation's annual commemoration of the Holocaust victims which had an estimated death toll of more than 6 million people in the mass murder campaign during World War II.

Each year state and local governments, workplaces, military bases, religious organizations, schools, and civic centers host observances and remembrance activities for their communities. These events usually occur during the Week of Remembrance, which runs from the Sunday before Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom Hashoah) through the following Sunday.

Is Mother Nature playing a joke???

Williamsburg Court - Thursday, April 09, 2015

I would sure love to know what's going on in the mind of Mother Nature! How we can go from having temperatures in the mid to high 60's one day to the next day having freezing rain and temperatures in the mid to low 30's???

I for one, cannot wait to hear the birds chirping in the morning and see all the beautiful flowers. Whether Mother Nature is going to finally allow spring to arrive or not, why not try to bring the Spring feelings alive yourself by sprucing up your living space? By adding a few simple items such as fresh flowers or a splash of color in your decor it will surely help brighten the cold winter blues that we are all going through.

Here's to wishing for warmer weather and beautiful sunny days ahead.
